Yes, we lose our right slowly, like the Chinese torture of a death of a thousand cuts. The fascist Plutocrats want this country.

When the investigators asked for a list of names for the phones the Bush admin tapped, they were told they couldn’t have the names as it would violate the phone owners privacy.

Mr Rall agrees with Glen Beck (who got lots of media attention for saying the US is a fascist nation)! Will wonders never cease? Or is this just the full circle, where the extreme left and the extreme right converge?
I have no idea what ‘fascism’ really means, so I went to Wikipedia. They didn’t know, either.
One can’t really blame things on Democracy any more, since the voters cast their votes for a Democratic House. The fault lies in the tattered remnants of our Constitution, about all of which is left are the 2nd Amendment and some arcane laws that let Republican state legislatures feed enough Democratic votes to the ravenous Gerrymander that the Republicans remain in control of the House (and may well remain in control in ’14, no matter how the voters cast their ballots).

The flaw here is that the court dismissed the suit for lack of standing — the “proof” needed was not that spying, in general, happened but that the plaintiffs were being spied upon.
It’s the same legal issue that keeps people from suing over churches that lobby in defiance of their non-profit status, and maybe it should be legislatively addressed, but it’s not a sign of “fascism.”
So, set up a sting to prove they’re spying on you.

Fascism is generally defined as the combination of government and business deciding what is best for the country, defined as government and business, of course. The needs of the public are subsumed by the needs of the overseers.

Another view…
Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism that came to prominence in mid-20th century Europe. Fascists seek to unify their nation through a totalitarian state that seeks the mass mobilization of the national community, relying on a vanguard party to initiate a revolution to organize the nation on fascist principles.Hostile to liberal democracy, socialism, and communism, fascist movements share certain common features, including the veneration of the state, a devotion to a strong leader, and an emphasis on ultranationalism, ethnocentrism, and militarism.Fascism views political violence, war, and imperialism as a means to achieve national rejuvenation and asserts that “superior” nations and races should attain living space by displacing weak and inferior ones.Respectful Troll said, 4 months ago
There are many reasons to be disappointed with Mr. Obama’s administration, this cartoon depicts a big one. He ran against this kind of gov’t behavior as a senator.
Respectfully,
& apprehensively,

If you’re going to plagerize, at least try to pretend it isn’t a direct copy/paste from Wiki. Either that or source it.
Also, it’s not “another view”, it’s a reasonbly peer reviewed article that provides a starting point for a definition.
As for your circle analogy, yup. I think it’s more like a multidimensional sphere, where you travel far enough in one direction you end up where you started.

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.” – Benito Mussolini
Ol’ Benny knew a few things about fascism. But hey, at least the trains were on time….

Even the 2nd Amendment is tattered: Only the second half of the Amendment is enforced; the first half is totally disregarded.

Fascism means you might be bad, but you want everyone else to see somebody else as badder than you are, while you get to be the secret baddest one of all.
History is full of twists like that.
The Nazi Party was the Nationalist Socialist Party and rose to power on promises of jobs, of redistribution of wealth, and of making those who exploited the common man pay for his “crimes.” They did it by rewarding the big money guys on their side, by stomping on the neck of anyone who opposed them, and became a horrible buzzword for evil.
What any party does when it gains control seems to be more of the same, just into their pockets, and the only way to avoid it is to make sure no one party or group is in control.
And for some reason that scares people more than the threat of horrible govenment.
