Twice the winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rall's work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, as well as such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Fortune and MAD. Well said. It means the Imperial mind set has contaminated the Liberals and Progressives too. The partisanship must end. it blinds people to the realities. We should all be Independents. It is the only way.

We can’t stop the Plutocratic move to open Fascism if most people agree with its policies.

Or maybe people just realise what the consequenses could be by not using drones. Just because you agree with them doesn´t mean you can´t have a general mindset to be against them.

That would date you to being born in the 1890’s or 1900’s. They must have stamped you with one heckuva shelf life/expiration date when you were born!

Good grief, Ted. Such a display of cynicism about the underlying motivation for demonstrating against something. Politics instead of purpose. Kind of sad, really.
edinbaltimore said, 4 months ago
It would be cynical if not for the demonstrated motivation of Republicans from Obama’s first days in office.

Mr Rall keeps hoping for a revolution, but here he recognises that the overwhelming majority of Americans agree with the US military’s keeping the US safe by killing every man, woman, and baby terrorist, so support for his revolution is limited to an insignificant and impuissant minority.
In a conventional war (pre WWI), both sides wore uniforms, and uniformed members of one side could kill any uniformed member of the other side (except maybe prisoners and medics) without question. Today, those the US considers terrorists wear no uniforms, so (according to Stratfor et al.) the US can and must kill everyone who is not wearing a uniform, and is fully legally and morally justified in doing so. Any innocents killed (executive orders say there ain’t any) were victims not of the US and its drones, but of the terrorists responsible for 9/11 who forced the US to deploy the drones to keep America safe, so it is the 9/11 hijackers who must bear 100% of the guilt if a US drone has killed any innocents.

Very interesting Rall, and a good point. By the way, check the righteous righteous anger from right-wingers this and last week over the drones issue, it was all over Capitol Hill – made me think McCain was allied with Jane Fonda! :)

Well, he nailed it. Most of the protesters during the Bush reign didn’t give a good goddamn about war, or civil liberties, or torture, or human rights, or abuses of power, or government transparency. They were just using those issues as excuses to bash Republicans and get a Democrat in office to keep doing the same things they were pretending to oppose. It WAS for political purposes, and the deafening silence from most liberals and the Democratic propagandists of the MSM prove that beyond any doubt.

The guy in the cartoon is just getting read for the next “spontaneous” demonstration. Not unlike the so called “occupy” movement.
