    You’ve said it all.

The Taliban are terrorists. The American Government are terrorists with drone (and who are, apparently, just as bad at targetting Bad Guys without killing lots of innocents).

Agreed. Especially putting the cocktail in O’s hand!

Rall is taking this in the totally wrong direction.

The strip is a good combo of funny and disturbing — the best kind. RE: the cocktail, just ten minutes ago I was looking at the picture of Obama and Romney in tuxes with cocktails yucking it up at the Al Smith banquet. So yeah, reality can be disturbing and funny at the same time.

Yeah…gotta agree with you on this one, Clark.

This is sick but funny. Isn’t that usually the essence of Rall? And yes it’s exaggerated and unrealistic. They would actually wait until she was out of the ambulance, on the gurney going into the hospital. And the Prez would have a smoke of some kind in his hand rather than a drink.

I think Ted’s message is that the drone attacks do just as much collateral damage as the directed terror attacks are doing. In a sense, it’s kind of pointing out that she had just as much chance of being hit by us as the Taliban.
You can replace Obama with whoever may be President at any time we have used military force that injured or killed civilians, but the added irony I think Mr. Rall points out is that this one has a Nobel Peace Prize in his office.

By all accounts, what the Taliban did was dead stupid. By targeting this young lady, they have galvanized more of the population of the Middle East against them. Rall is off the mark here. Obama would not take out the ‘poster child’ against the Taliban. And what’s the deal with the cocktail? Obama doesn’t care?

Disgustingly bad taste, even for a below average cartoon.

Rall’s solution would be to not attack the terrorist leadership, leaving them to flourish and shoot even more schoolgirls down.

I agree that this is over the top, however, I also think that using drones to elimate suspected terrorists and whoever else might be in the wrong place at the wrong time is over the top.

I see that symbolism now that you’ve pointed it out. That said…a man I knew for four years was part of the group practicing flying drones in the middle east from some base in Nevada or New Mexico. A decorated pilot of A-10 warthogs who fought during the war to free Kuwait, he felt using drones and cruise missles were somehow dishonorable. This despite the bullet holes in the pics of his plane.
I have to believe our government doesn’t deliberately target terrorists who are with non combatants, particularly women and children. A name like fourcrows could belong to a population with a painful history where the US Military is concerned, but I MUST believe we do not knowingly target children even if a high value target is present. I have to until its proven otherwise. Then I have to weep and vote for people who don’t kill children.
The image upsets me, the pic of Obama with a cocktail casually watching people being killed, offends me.

I looked up the numbers on this a couple of weeks ago from fairly credible sources when he did another cartoon on this subject. A cartoon can be exaggerated but still have some credibility. Rall’s exaggeration on this is so far exaggerated as to be blatant fabrication.
