Deploying the razor-sharp wit and incisive take-no-prisoners satire characteristic of his generation, Gen Xer Ted Rall has become one of the most widely read editorial cartoonists in America. Twice the winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rall's work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, as well as such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Fortune and MAD. It is already decided, no matter what the trolls say about it.
Obama 52%, willard 47%, Wankers 1% write in candidates.

The problem isn’t the wankers it’s the fools voting Democrat.

On editorialcartoonists.com, the word a**hole was used instead of wankers. Does gocomics.com think we’re a bunch of children?

Considering Ted’s politics most closely match the Green Party candidate, it looks like he’s putting himself firmly in the Wankers category.

Probably, and with some of the comments like this one from narrowminded: “The problem isn’t the wankers it’s the fools voting Democrat.” There is good reason to think that some of the posters are a bunch of children.

Come on, Ted. There is a huge difference between independent voters and the so called undecided. One group chooses not to affiliate with a political party, the other can’t be bothered to give a #$% about the nation’s future.

Who mentioned independent voters? This is a swipe at (a) the outsized influence of swing voters and (b) the idea that anyone would still be confused about what to do this November. The choices are very, very clear.

But I thought that a “wanker” was a . . . .

The only surprising part of this is that everyone is doing the same thing.
.
If I recall, Bill Maher did it, SNL did it Ted Rall is doing it.
.
What’s also a little off putting is that Ted Rall has been the pot stirrer in this in that for the past “four” years he has been showing that Obama is not even less bad than the worst Republican. So for him to (you) say “the choices are very, very clear.” is disengenuous.

Panel #3 of this cartoon tells the whole story. The candidates pander to the least informed voters.
.
Independent voters in NY state are essentially disenfranchised because we can’t vote in primaries where all real electoral decisions are made. So I vote for third parties in the futile hope that one day long after I’m dead and gone …
.
Oh hell. Who am I kidding? We won’t just be a de facto plutocracy by then. We’ll be a total bona fide plutocracy.

Who mentioned independent voters?
You did. Want us to change that to “Undecided”?

On Rall’s page it’s that way, too (NOT “wankers”)!
So, I guess this site is for kids.

“Independent voters in NY state are essentially disenfranchised because we can’t vote in primaries where all real electoral decisions are made.”
.
You’re not “disenfranchised” you have given your franchise away! (Been there, done that, learned my lesson, reregistered) Don’t blame anybody else.
.
Also, take comfort in the fact that “all real electoral” decisions are made in a smoky back room down to the VFW hall.
.
The nominating committee chooses who’s going to get the Party Nomination, and then the rank and file nominate him or her. Then the majority party elects the nominee (in rural NYS that usually means the Republican).
.
You’re not missing all that much. But you are missing some stuff. At least if you do vote in the primary then you can let the party know when they are getting too far to one side or the other. They’re more likely to hear a protest vote when it’s not confused with a general election vote.
