Soooo, if whites live the same way that other minorities do, they die like the other minorities do. So if you graduate from high school and go to college and become a snob, like Santorum said, then you live longer…hmmm that must be why Santorum became such a snob.

Beautiful application (or demonstration) of the problems with mathematics and statistics. Also I would guess that the main reason for the drop can be found in obesity and it’s associated illnesses. I don’t want to harp on stereotypes, but if you drop out of high-school you’re probably not going to listen to nutritionists, your doctor or even the First Lady…

Come on, Ted! Just how is Obama to blame for undereducated Americans continually choosing to eat food that leads to health problems that shorten their lives?

@Jase99
You know better, to the right-wing whackos common sense, truth, facts and reality don’t matter. No matter what the problem is, it’s always President Obamas fault to them.

@MortyForTyrant
I think the real problem is if you aren’t one of the lucky ones who has outstanding health insurance, your life expectancy is merely a matter of chance. If you get sick, you die. If you have the means and insurance, if you get sick, you get treatment, get better and you live. Ironically Rail, in his lame attempt to paint the President at fault for the declining life expectancy just gave us another justification for universal healthcare, just like every other developed country in the world.

Actually, the main reasons for this decreased life expectancy are lack of healthcare and drug overdoses.
Anyway, I think it’s obvious that Obama is not to blame for what happened from 1990 to 2007. The reason he’s in the cartoon is that (a) he’s in charge and so anything that goes wrong under his watch is his responsibility and (b) he’s been saying America is not in decline. But it clearly is.

Ironically? My criticism of Obamacare is that it is not universal healthcare. It’s a right-wing sellout to insurance companies.

I quit reading your columns long ago after being a big fan. I no longer even look for them.
You started attacking Obama long before he became pres, I suppose you wanted McCain and Palin.
Your cartoons are kind of what I think Ima
and Onguard would post if they were political cartoonists. Nice company.

Keep giving tax breaks to the rich and raise taxes on the middle class and pretty soon the rich will have everything and the majority will have nothing.

1 Try actually looking at the cartoon. Rall never says or even hints that Obama is to blame.
2 No data is presented that indicates that undereducation is causally linked to eating unhealty food or that unhealthy eating is responsible for the sudden decline.

Except Rall does not blame the Prez for declining life expectancy. Nor, after a certain minimum of health care, does additional heath care appreciably add to life expectancy. Again, read the cartoon. There has been a decline, a change, in life expectancy of some particular group. Has health care quality really fallen that much for uneducated whites over the last generation?

Ted, I have been reading you comic strip since the days ketchup was a serving of vegetables. But you have been becoming increasingly obtuse. I didn’t come to the conclusion quoted above. The closest I came was the correlation between education and the accessiblity to health care and I wonder how close most of your readers came even to that conclusion.

The only thing pathetic is your lack of a sense of humor. Maybe it would improve if they gave you a jar of Santorum for every post you make.
