Many have completed their tour and have returned to the US and have become civilians again.

Sorry, but that would have been Rummy and the “Army we’ve got”.

…and the broken promises continue…gitmo closed? Troops home yet? The president lied. At least Hilary kept true to her disdain for us military folk. I can’t wait for those jerks to leave office.

That’s what “asymmetrical warfare” does to you. You’re a target, not a soldier. The guys who fought in the Pacific had a much tougher life than todays Marines in Afghanistan but (mostly…) didn’t commit suicide. Why? Because they had an enemy they could SEE and FIGHT! The trouble with suicides started in Vietnam when every guy in a rice field could be the enemy and you didn’t know until he stabbed you in the back. That kind of environment leaves a mark on the psyche of a soldier…

With severe PTSD, alcoholism, mystery ailments from exposure to toxins, many missing limbs, with no job prospects and increasingly lousy medical care. Thanks, guys!

Give the drone thing a rest.

No that would still be Obama who, like most liberals thinks we should not pay the military.

@MortyForTyrant
And they were actually allowed to fight.

And who has blocked these changes ("gitmo close etc)? It wasn’t the president.

Dems continue to fight for pay for the military. It’s the equipment that even the Pentagon says they don’t need that they are objecting to. But the cons have got to insure a steady stream of money to their bosses (aka the militaary industrial complex that Ike warned us about.)

Give the drone thing a rest! Let’s pretend they don’t exist.

More soldiers are now dying by suicide than in our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to the Pentagon, 154 soldiers have killed themselves so far in 2012!

I’ve seen a number of presidents reverse their campaign policies over the years. I often wonder if they don’t learn something that they don’t tell us during the presidential transition period.

continuous wars do not have ANY effects
—not on citizens, soldiers, nor the economy-right?pay and pay and pay for war mongers and war profiteering.
