Deploying the razor-sharp wit and incisive take-no-prisoners satire characteristic of his generation, Gen Xer Ted Rall has become one of the most widely read editorial cartoonists in America. Twice the winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rall's work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, as well as such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Fortune and MAD. He is also the author of 15 books, including several graphic novels and political polemics about Central and South Asia.

Come on, Ted, since when was the Executive supposed to solve all our problems?

Oh, well. At least he is trying, unlike the past administration.

Since he promised during the campaign that he would…and the unwashed masses believed him

When cleaning up after an bleeep, it’s easy to look half-assed.
Reminds me of that great Kinks song, “Superman”.

Ted still doesn’t get it. There is no fix for the economic crisis Bush has left us in. All Obama can do for this runaway train is minimize the casualties when it finally crashes. His stimulus plans won’t stop the Second Great Depression, but they will help Americans live through it.

Hmmm….I think with a couple of changes Rall could have made this comic work with McCain. He wouldn’t have had him use a blackberry or take mass transit.
But the guy on the ground would still be decapitated with a band-aid solution. The economic plan would still not solve everything.
We’ll probably see a bunch of ‘toons Rall (and others) had ready that could be converted to whomever won.

An ideologue is an ideologue, whether left or right. Nothing is ever good enough for them.

Still trying to figure out what those 575 blokes at other end of Penn Ave are supposed to do.
Wish they’d signed on to 1st tenet of Hippocratic oath: “First, do no harm”

Ted, the Hello Kitty logo is too perfect!
As they say in AA, “Half measures availed us not.” For starters how about taxing the living bejeebus out of everyone making over $250,000 dollars a year (the ones who’ve made out like bandits these last eight years)? Are we in a financial meltdown or not? Then nationalize the banks. As I said, just for openers…

You’re right, of course. But any part of a loaf, even a crumb, is better than absolutely nothing.

Obama does need some cojones regarding the economy, and it’s up to us to fire up Congress to make sure he does the right thing.
Incidentally, this is Rall’s first Obama cartoon that makes any sense.
