Deploying the razor-sharp wit and incisive take-no-prisoners satire characteristic of his generation, Gen Xer Ted Rall has become one of the most widely read editorial cartoonists in America. Twice the winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rall's work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, as well as such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Fortune and MAD. He is also the author of 15 books, including several graphic novels and political polemics about Central and South Asia.

Hey Ted, how about taking your own advice (OK, your own rat’s advice).

You could at least wait until the new regime ACTUALLY TAKES OFFICE. (Usually I like Ted Rall’s comics, but his obvious disdain for Obama is getting old already)

Mes amis je vous assure
Que le temps est bien dur
Y faut pas s’décourager
Ça va bien vite r’commencer
De l’ouvrage y va n’aouère
Pour tout le monde cet hiver
Y faut ben donner le temps
Au nouveau gouvernement
(My friends I assure you
that times are quite hard
but we should’nt give up
It will start back very soon
There will be work
For everyone this winter
We just have to give time
To the new government)
Old french-canadian tune from the 1930’s by Mary Traverse aka La Bolduc.

Despite all my rage
I am still just a rat in a cage.

Wait for them to take office? Why? At this moment they’re sitting around doing nothing waiting for January 20?
I’m with Ted. I don’t disdain Obama for the fun of it. Obama has been hard at work before January 20, and has already done quite a bit to deserve disdain.

geezjan, “disdain”, hard word. By your tone I believe you’ll be doing a lot of “disdaining” in the future, reguardless what Pres Obama does.
geezjan said, 10 months ago
I suppose I could say that, by your tone, Humphries, I believe that you’ll love Obama in the future regardless of what he does. But that’s an empty, reflexive, defensive kind of thing to say. It doesn’t say or mean much.
If Obama were to do the right thing in the future, I’d love him. But the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, so I believe there’s good reason to expect more “disdaining” in the future.

geez, did it ever occur to you that your idea of “the right thing” and others’ ideas of the right thing might just possibly be different?

Whatever happened to “The only thing we need to fear is…fear itself!”
I’d trade Ted Rall for FDR any day.
