Repulsed and non-plussed. They may even be offended. (Don’t forget the Rear Admiral ploy)

R.I.P. WW2Marine. I just got the news today.

It will be a surprise for all (especially Kurt) when we find that Rommel didn’t kill himself in Oct ’44 and is now raiding desert forts under the transparent alias of “Le Renard”.

Sadly, we can no longer call on our trusty Marine WW2, he’s now among the fallen in Valhalla ,the Nordic home of warriors.
The villain in the piece today, could be Sgt. Le Juene, also known as the sadistic Sgt. Markoff in the film “Beau Geste”.

RIP Marine WW2. You can rest easy old vet. Your comrades are with you now and if you have a smoke, break it out with your buddies.

For those who dont know, “The streets of heaven are guarded by the United States Marines”. From The Marine Hymn.

My dad and father in law, both long gone now, were your Navy comrades in arms.

CPhM Ernest Johnson and CDR Philip Hayes USN. USS Blue Ridge for Dr. Hayes.

Unknown for Chief Johnson except for his service in Nicaragua where he received a medal from the President of that country in the thirties.

These men were most definitely the Greatest Generation. God bless them all. We are losing them by the hundreds every day.

My time came much later in 1970. And that is why I am:

    The old Sarge

One of his few misjudgments a priori… but then, this is the man who decided to ride a giraffe into the Sahara Desert in pursuit of camels.
