Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875–1950) was an American author. He is best known as an early influence in the science fiction genre, specifically through the creation of his best known series, Tarzan of the Apes and John Carter of Mars. He was a prolific author in general and made contributions to many other genres.

perhaps not, since India’s elephants have smaller ears than African—The old Tarzan films used Indian elephants , they were easier to handle—so the movie people attached phony enlargements to the ears.

They aren’t in India though, they’re in Russia. I don’t think there are many elephants in Siberia. Maybe some undiscovered Woolly Mammoths, but no elephants.
