I’m not a NASCAR fan, but one of the things that their drivers do is to tailgate right on the bumper in front of them in order to take advantage of “drafting,” or riding within the slipstream of the car in front of them.
One reason that I’m not a NASCAR fan is that their cars are nowhere near STOCK (the “S” in the acronym “NASCAR”). When was the last time you could get a Ford Fusion with a V8 and rear wheel drive? Never. When was the last time you could get a Toyota Camry with that configuration? Never. When was the last time you could get a Chevy Impala with that configuration? 1996. The only car raced in NASCAR that actually comes with that configuration is the Dodge Charger.
Which one of the four cars driven in NASCAR races is actually built in the United States? Ford? No. Built in Mexico. Chevy or Dodge? Built in Canada.
It’s the Toyota Camry, built in Georgetown, Kentucky!

I’d really like to see another racing circuit open up that actually uses real STOCK cars, straight off the showroom floor.
They could only be modified for safety equipment and glass removal.

There is talk of a track being built in Ontario, Canada. NASCAR with snow tires!

Replace the figure 8 with a Möbius strip to make the racing really interesting.

This is a humorous example of a situation where do good ers think they have a solution to a problem but they really only have less than half the information needed.

I hate watching cars make turns in just one direction. Now if they were to race on an F1 track. That would be interesting to watch. And as a added attraction we could see what drivers could really drive on a track like the new F1 track at Austin TX. 3.5 miles with left and right turns and both short and long straightaways.
As it is now NASCAR is nothing but driving in a circle.
Go Kart tracks are harder as many are laid out like F1 tracks.
I paid my duckats and drove on the Nuremburing(sp) in Germany. Its really to bad that the nanny state(and way to many lawyers) prevent setting up the same kind of track where you can test yourself and your car-and, if you crash, you can not sue the track

.NASCAR actutally does race on F1 tracks. The Sprint Cup races at Watkins Glen, N.Y. They used to race the U.S. Grand Prix there for many years. I went in 1979. They also race on the Sonoma road course in California. The Nationwide Series races on the same course they run the Canadian Grand Prix on in Montreal.

The Canadian race has been dropped for next year, but they’ll be racing at Mid-Ohio instead.
