    Still nowhere near the 1916 game of Cumberland vs. Georgia Tech. Tech won 222-0 – and it wasn’t that close.

    Georgia Tech v. Cumberland was a football game in name only. Cumberland had discontinued its football program and only fielded a team to avoid paying a penalty for not showing up.

    True enough, but the Cumberland-GT game was still a scheduled contest, not some ad hoc publicity stunt as some have alledged.

    I think there should be a Cumberland-GT rematch game in 2016. Maybe with leather helmets.
