   Perhaps moving in the basketball scoreboard is a little premature. In the NFL, the most points scored in one game was 73 by the Chicago Bears in the 1940 NFL championship game against the Washington Redskins. That 73-0 shut-out is also the largest margin of victory in NFL history. In terms of regular season games, the Washington Redskins scored the most points in beating the New York Giants 72-41 in 1966. The 1966 Giants-Redskins contest also set the record for most total points (113) scored in a game.

   a “6-3 yawner” is great, dramatic football when it involves two superior athletic teams with great defenses. I’d rather what that any day than a 59-48 shootout with no defenses.
