@1after909
Good one, 1after909. Wonder if that’s true for your namesake’s author as well.

Joseph, it is true about Will Shakespeare. All the lies and slander he told against Richard III live on and millions believe them. In reality, Richard III did not murder his nephews, or anybody else. He was a good man.

Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York…
King Richard the Third
Act I Scene 1 Line 1
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Poor Richard, forever maligned by the jealous Tudor sycophants. But Shakespeare did give him some memorable lines:
" And thus I clothe my naked villany
With odd old ends stol’n forth of holy writ,
And seem a saint when most I play the devil."
And
" Talkers are no good doers. "
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
There are many more. Apropos of Joe, who should have said: “O coward conscience, how dost thou afflict me !”
Instead of : “Conscience is but a word that cowards use,
Devis’d at first to keep the strong in awe.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So "Give me another horse ! Bind up my wounds !

My favorite:
Lady Anne: “Villain! Thou know’st no law of God nor man. No beast so fierce but knows some touch of pity.”
Richard: “But I know none, and therefore am no beast.”
