and i think it’s ridiculous to have teams schedule schools that are thoroughly overmatched as opponents, just so they can run up big scores. i remember looking at point spreads for college ball years back and would always notice games where one team would be favoured by 40 points or more. there seemed to be at least two per week! absolute nonsense!

It’s all about the bowl games. As long as scheduling those softies makes it easier to become bowl-eligible, they’ll never stop doing it.
That doesn’t mean that all Division 1-AA teams are pushovers. It’s pretty funny to see an FBS team who thought they were BCS contenders get brought down to earth by what they thought was an FCS cream puff.

Huh. As a former Georgia Tech student. i sneer at a score of 63 to 7.
Why, back in 1916, three years before my grandfather graduated at Tech…

Go Jackets!!
I’ll confess, I was pretty worried for awhile.
I don’t really see a problem with playing inferior opponents. Didn’t the Harlem Globe Trotters make a fortune beating up the same team (Washington Wizards or some such?) several times a weak? People loved it!
