    I love the detail of the puddle of leaking fluid under the engine.

    Notice the robotic arms in the background?
    Not necessarily bad, or evil, but another reason for the dearth of jobs today.

    The “Aztec” was a lot uglier, they rubbed it harder than almost any other model with ugly stick, and it was a dog.

    Tigger, Henry used PEOPLE on his assembly lines. And, he paid them handsomely for their work and company loyalty.

    DaSharkie: yes, that’s true. I didn’t say it was a bad idea, but it does displace humans. This is something which our elected leaders should be thinking about, and come up with some plans. As computers, robotics and technologies surge forward in development, what are people going to do, to earn a living? Millions are already being left behind, with really no place to go! Sure, one can say “Train oneself in the new technologies”. Easier said than done, especially if your 40 or older!

    @MangeyMoose

    Our leaders’ solutions are to raise minimum wage which only kills jobs, encourages automation, and unmotivates anyone who has worked hard to move up in a company.

    I think he came from a sanitorium, when his state closed them down to save money.

    “Tesla helped to invent to robot. Though not used until 1962 or so for the first ones…”
    The 1962 Tesla is a rare car indeed.

    Wages were rising until the recession.

    @Tigger
    Causation Fail!
    The mere existence of the assembly line did not cause the use of robot arms for assembly. Had products been individually built it’s very possible one robot with access to a plethora of tools could have been built.

    At least GM is being honest this time.

    The real “secret” of the assembly line was that all parts of the car were built to a standardized design rather than “hand made” for each car, then the parts were put in bins and could just be grabbed as the assembly process moved down the line, and any part, like a lug nut or distributor, could go on any vehicle in the line, and same for replacement if a part wore out. “Robots” are today used to perform micro-surgery on humans, and that’s not “assembly line”, yet.

    Stuart,

    Have you seen the latest news on Governor Weasel…I mean Walker? They released the documents about the John Doe.

    Looking forward to your artwork on that.
