Maybe some lobbyists will stop blocking the implementation of resonable gun laws, but it seems unlikely.

I dream of a future when the desire to own something that is designed to kill another human being will be considered insanity.

The state of California sells guns?

Carlson, 50% of adult Americans own guns. 30% of that 50% legally carry guns openly or concealed every day, yet America’s murder numbers and murder rate are at over 40 year lows.

It was left fringer morons who kept mental; health concerns off the NICS.

You have just stated so very eloquently just why this fear of the federal government ever even trying to take gun owners weaponry away from them with strict gun legislation is totally bogus, and even borders on the insane!

That mentally ill demands redefining: it currently calls in state and federal laws for violent statements, actions, or ideations. It must be DOCUMENTED, and commitment or arrest is required to prohibit gun sales to the individual. THAT is because the NRA has fought for years to prevent intervention in the purchase of HAND GUNS, not RIFLES! Then theres those armor piercing bullets they love!

We are already running over with “reasonable” gun laws, the problem is enforcement. And, did anyone notice that guns weren’t the only weapons used in CA? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

A few years ago, 77 unarmed Norwegians were murdered on the island of Utøya by some nut.

^ A shame they didn’t all have guns so 77 could be murdered EVERY year.

We’re talking about California. One of the most strict states on gun control and gun restrictions. There are already laws in place to have prevented Elliot Rodgers gun purchases. Possibly if the warnings by his parents and social worker would have been heeded we wouldn’t even be talking about this.
Again, we’re smoke screening the real problem which is handling mental health care. Screaming about how guns are available to people with severe mental health problems doesn’t work when the laws already on the books aren’t used.

Dimwits like Matthew Nicholas conveniently forget that the amendment says something about a “well-regulated militia”. I didn’t read anything in it about “a screaming mob of gun nuts”.

The U.S. has the highest rate of gun ownership in the world: 88 guns per 100 people (that’s scary!). And no, we don’t have the highest rate of gun-induced homicide in the world—there are other social factors affecting these statistics—but it’s way up there.

Imagine if we had the same strict gun-ownership policies as England, where the rate of homicide by firearms is only 2% that of the U.S., and there are only 6.2 firearms per 100 people.

Tigger: WOW! Run down to your Sacramento DMV office, or the State Attorney’s office and by your Glock, or Barrett? Even NoBrainCasting knows the state doesn’t sell firearms. And, I guess you entranced by Rodger’s “mane” of locks
