Haven’t gotten smog yet, but I have gotten items that reeked of chemicals or had a thin layer of grit, dirt, or oil still on them.

It doesn’t come in a box; It floats over the Pacific to the west coast; at least the Gobi desertification sand particles do.

The joys of a free Capitalist system. No regulations.

Don’t look to buy one made in the USA… The company moved to China to avoid costly “Zero Tolerance” EPA regulations!

Gosh, if we hadn’t been so silly as to have regulations in the US, we could have really terrible levels of smog, too.

While we’re talking about government regulations, those in the US may not have heard about the fire in Quebec yesterday, in a retirement home — at least eight people died, and another 27 are missing. As it happens, the part of the building that burned was built before government regulations requiring sprinkler systems. Another part of the building, which was built later, and which did have sprinklers, didn’t burn. So we’re talking maybe thirty people who might not have died if the government regulations requiring sprinklers had been in force.

Yes, I heard about it. My heart goes out to the families who’ve lost Mom and/or Dad. I spent 10 years or so taking care of my mother at home after my father died so I know how much work is involved in doing that.
