I here a couple of states are passing blue laws, large stores cannot open on Thanksgiving & other holidays, as much as I am in favor of the idea, you should using government for that kind of legislation.

Not me. The more people who stay away till Friday the better they won’t pull this stunt anymore.

I do not like religious based laws. They violate the 1st Amendment.

So you’re saying you’re in favor of “big government” regulations encroaching on free enterprise?

    Same here !
I remember “blue laws”, which were accepted by most..
Religion has taken quite the hit o’er the years, which they asked for, IMO.

’Toon depicts why the “holidays” now bring on so much depression in the population.

As I am not wealthy, I shop early on amazon. and shop only for relatively inexpensive items that will be of lasting value to my immediate family. And I pay for everything with a debit card, which means that it is paid for with money that I have only in the bank at the time I order, which is money that I know I can spare (no paying with a credit card and still owing for the holidays in July). This gives me great peace of mind, and I sleep very well at night!!

Everyone (yes, even the more extreme political types here), please have a very safe and happy holiday season!!

    Me Too.
Why go through all the hassle just to “save” a few bucks.

Jep, that is a scourge of our times, mindless shopping, often done by women who somehow think it’s a hobby or so. I have a list of things i need to buy one day in the future and if i have the money i buy them, one at a time, after careful consideration of models, brands, conditions etc. on the Internet and finding the best price. In other words: i buy a pair of shoes when there is about a month left in my current pair, i don’t own 600 pairs of shoes like Imelda Marcos…
