    He already told us that the GOP would lose before he started this hopeless quest. But the American people must suffer another week or two because… because… oh, why bother. Never made sense to begin with, and he knew it.

    @chipscount Well, actually, I have friends who rely on park service tourism and my mom’s worried about her social security check being affected if it goes on much longer, so yes, I have noticed.

    Guess this means if the Tea Party gets away with this, next it will be about any other law they don’t like, or maybe even presidential election results. So what if it’s a law or sponsored by a re-elected-by-a-decided majority president?

    Rachel Maddow called it basically on day one! When John B. had to re-swear in two GOP members who had “taken the oath” via a TV in the lobby she raised doubts about JBs capabilities as speaker and – boy oh boy – was she right!

    There are 800,000 “non-essential” government employees on furlough. Why do they have jobs in the first place if they are non-essential?
    Is it to keep the unemployment numbers low?
