    He already told us that the GOP would lose before he started this hopeless quest. But the American people must suffer another week or two because… because… oh, why bother. Never made sense to begin with, and he knew it.

    Rachel Maddow called it basically on day one! When John B. had to re-swear in two GOP members who had “taken the oath” via a TV in the lobby she raised doubts about JBs capabilities as speaker and – boy oh boy – was she right!

    There are 800,000 “non-essential” government employees on furlough. Why do they have jobs in the first place if they are non-essential?
    Is it to keep the unemployment numbers low?

    The Republicans have entered a lynch mob phase amongst themselves, in their anger at Ted Cruz for instigating this, and John Boehner for allowing (and prolonging) the shutdown. The cartoon is accurate, and (naturally) the usual right-wing posters are going nuts about it.
