He already told us that the GOP would lose before he started this hopeless quest. But the American people must suffer another week or two because… because… oh, why bother. Never made sense to begin with, and he knew it.

There are 800,000 “non-essential” government employees on furlough. Why do they have jobs in the first place if they are non-essential?
Is it to keep the unemployment numbers low?

The Republicans have entered a lynch mob phase amongst themselves, in their anger at Ted Cruz for instigating this, and John Boehner for allowing (and prolonging) the shutdown. The cartoon is accurate, and (naturally) the usual right-wing posters are going nuts about it.

“Guess this means if the Tea Party gets away with this, next it will be about any other law they don’t like, or maybe even presidential election results. So what if it’s a law or sponsored by a re-elected-by-a-decided majority president?”

this is exactly correct. I don’t like the illegal and unconstitutional funding for so called ‘faith based initiatives’, so let’s shut down the whole damn government because it gives the catholic church about 4 billion dollars per year to pay off their pedophilia suits.

On what planet? On Earth the press adored Clinton, almost as much as Obama. When the rape allegations came up one news show on the normal networks had it and my local newspaper posted it next to some article on butter flavoring for popcorn.
The Shrub was ridiculed for WMEs, remember that? While Harry Reid’s comment regarding treating kids with cancer “why would we want to do that?” barely gets a mention.
So how far is your planet from earth?
