I know the names of my legislators and my vote depends on their vote.
If more voters did the right thing government would change.
A bit late now, the watch is not going to be repaired at this time. Too bad about the coming deaths from this lack of foresight.

No, that’s a false equivalence. The GOP wants to destroy the government, the Democrats don’t. Since both parties need to pass a debt limit, the GOP only has leverage to the extent that they’re the only party that doesn’t care if America is destroyed.

Really Arod, you haven’t been paying attention have you? Obama, Reid, and the Democrats want a continuing resolution and budget with all of the things they want in it, particularly full funding for Obamacare.
The Republicans want a budget that removes most or all of Obamacare spending.
The Republican led house has sent several variants of a continuing resolution to the Senate with different options on Obamacare.
The Democrats rejected them all out of hand because they didn’t include full funding for Obamacare.
It is the Democrats who are intransigent here. They have a hard-line unchanging position on what they want for funding the government. That they are unwilling to compromise means that they are the primary reason government is shutting down. It is that simple.

It is the Democrats who are intransigent here.

The Democrats control the Presidency & the Senate. TheHouse GOP have spent two years unsuccessfully trying to repeal Obamacare. If it’s such a disaster, all they need to do sit back, watch it fail. They will take Congress next year in such numbers that they can override any veto.

Of course, if the ACA is not such a horrible thing, they’re in a bad spot…

What Obama , Reid and Pelosi are selling is poison – Tyranny , disguised as progressive liberalism!

Tyranny?? Like Social Security & Medicare?

Reagan said government WAS the problem, and he, and every Republican (with a few exceptions) has set out to make that so every since.

No, they know no such thing. Last week polling had 45 or so percent blaming Republicans 35 or so blaming Obama and the Democrats.

That has gone to 40 blaming Republicans and 45 percent blaming Obaman and the Democrats today, a week later.

It didn’t help the Democrat position that Reid had the Senate take the weekend off while the House stayed in session. It doesn’t strengthen their position that the House is sending up CR after CR with different provisions only to see them essentially ignored in the Senate. Reid is Obama’s worst enemy right now.

In 1938 folks thought Adolph was the best thing since sliced bread, not so much in 1946. The false propaganda machine on the right is very powerful, they love TEA, but are finding it more poisonous every day. So, so, much of the Republican’s ideas are scraped from the stables, folks are starting to catch the drift, and the smell.

Could the righties on here explain these things for me, so I can understand your position better? I’m posting this on a fourth thread because on the prior three I got zero responses. I didn’t think they’d be that difficult to answer.

    1. Why do you want insurance companies to be able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions?

    2. Why is it bad to require insurance companies to spend at least 80% of insurance premiums on actual health care, as opposed to executive salaries and bonuses?

    3. Why is it bad for dependents to be able to stay on their parents’ policy until age 26, instead of making them get more expensive care at a younger age?

    4. Why do you like lifetime insurance caps?

    5. Why is it better to have millions of people uninsured who then use emergency rooms for routine care, costing far more?

Thanks in advance for explaining these things, so we can understand why you hate Obamacare so much.

Get in your car in Los Angeles, and drive to New York, without taking advantage of anything “the government” provided for the people. While you’re at it, take a look at all those oil wells in the Gulf of Mexico and ask how many are paying royalties at al, let alone “fair market value” royalties for that oil that belongs, TO TAXPAYERS!!
