Ahab: sent ‘em heroin from Afghanistan, that’s how England planned to conquer China! Actually, stay out of civil wars, folks, or maybe just nuke Tel Aviv and parts of Jerusalem and quiet things down for a while by getting rid of the real troublemakers in the region?

When the US interferes with other gov’ts our biggest enemies are the result. Maybe if we stay out of this we’ll end up with a strong ally.

Christians are being driven from Syria . Why are we supporting the jihadis who are persecuting them?

One cannot really criticize the poor man for his indecision…. The only experience he has with the military is that someone told him he was supposed to say hi to the Marine who guards the steps on his helicopter…..

Oh, and he is just as indecisive about prosecuting the bankers who defrauded millions of americans out of their homes, and caused the worst financial crisis ( which I am still dealing with – I don’t know about you…) since 1929!!

Can we all agree to stay out of Vietnam?

On reflection, I have to agree with Night-Gaunt49…. Let those murderous islamic maniacs solve much of the worlds’ terrorism problems by allowing them to decimate one another….

Just curious about a question of style — why precisely did you use the forms “ain’t” and “yo” and the phrase “yo’ mama”? Were you trying to make a point? If so, what point? I’m very interested in style, so please help me out here.

Bin Laden, Somali pirates, Al Qaeda in Pakistan and Yemen (no, not totally defending drones, but. . .) all prove that of course Obama doesn’t know anything about how to use our military, and should go back to using "W"’s and his dad’s tactics, that got us into, and stuck us in, the longest wars in U.S. history in Afghanistan and IRaq.

We not only should STOP messing in other countries civil wars in the Middle East, we should also be aware we’re doing it at the behest, actually, of the smallest minority, but most heavily armed (by population) nation on Earth, that other “I-word” country.

Assad does suck, but the “opposition” may be worse, and could well inflame things far worse, but well, our “defense” industry is smiling all the way to the bank.

The way everyone talks here we would have stayed out of Germany. . .twice!

Although, beware the chips Obama. Once you pop, you can’t stop.

I accept your explanation. Just a word of advice — be careful with this kind of writing, it could lead people to think that you are making racist comments. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to give that impression, even by accident.

If the whole country does not stand up and say “NO”, then expect more of our men and women to be slaughtered, have their legs and arms and faces blown off, and the very rich to get richer selling more guns and bombs. And the worst thing of all is that the “rebels” and not good guys. They are religious extremist that will continue as bad or worse as the incumbents. We’re only helping switch one tyrannical régime for another. Probably worse but why do we kill our own people for this BS? Answer: War profits that will drive the vast majority of us deeper into the poor house and provide even better Champaign and caviar for the 1%. Left or Right—doesn’t matter. They all go for the “War”—the undeclared ‘War’—that they casually walk us into, again and again. I honestly do care one bit what they do in that country. More often than not we end up sitting up a new and worse governing body that turns on us and we’re back in a few years supporting the next “rebels”. Hint: Rebels are not always the good guys and sometimes are just the same as what we’re calling the “bad guys”.
