    Keep on firing the professional, career government employees and contract individuals to take their places and we can have more opportunities for spies and sloppy workmanship.

    This is fairly typical of contractors. They hire on the “cheap”, and keep the profit for themselves, still costing the taxpayer as much, or MORE than having a “government” employee. (Short term, single time jobs MAY be cheaper to contract, but not one single permanent job has proven to be cheaper through contracting..)

    This guy didn’t even have a GED and would not have begun to be hired, even as a seasonal with the government to do this job! Not the first time Booz Allen has “skirted” the law to be kind about it.

    And the sad part is he is the only one so far to have broken the law in the latest scandal. As much as i try i can not blame Obama on this, except his hypocrisy, but even that is in check and falls on the side I agree with.
    But hey the loony left have found a way to blame bush so they are happy.

    Snowdon gets nothing out of this but the fact that he has alerted us to the ongoing surveillance state in our own country and it is out of control and turned against us still.

    What Night-Gaunt49 said and then some. I think Snowden was right when he said that nothing will change. We keep focusing on what he did and not the message he was transmitting.
    I work with computers for a living. I’m sure many people who post here do as well probably in a higher capacity. Gathering all that data makes it very easy to slap together an incriminating past regardless of what you did or what your intentions were.
    Y’know how lawyers tell you to never talk to with cops without an attorney. All this data gathering is the equivalent of everyone getting into a line at the police station and telling them everything about themselves right up to the dark secrets that everyone holds to themselves. Most people are very mundane and truly have nothing to hide except the police aren’t interested in the truth. They are interested in an arrest. “What you say can and will be held against</I< you in a court of law”. What they track and write down isn’t used to clear you. This is the call to say “Hands off my data without probably cause or a warrant!”

    @onguard

    The level of stupidity that comment reveals is appalling. Since you probably slept through your American Government class in high school, here is how it works.

    The executive branch consists of a vast bureaucracy of both political appointees and permanent employees. The political appointees range from the highly visible positions such as Secretary of State and Attorney General to much less visible positions – Assistant To the Ambassador to Chile. The permanent employees are non-political, and do the actual work – other than press conferences.

    In as case like this, the wishes of the political appointees are honored only if they are legal. In this case, they are authorized by the Patriot Act.
