    Dems’ scandals are usually of a personal nature and have little consequence for the nation.
    Reps’ scandals are usually of a constitutional nature and threaten the very fabric of our nation.

    I agree that the Republicans tend to elect crooks, but I’d have to say that Johnson started a war on false pretenses and did enormous damage to the country.

    I’m still waiting for Woodward and Bernstein to link President Obama directly to any of these “scandals”. Wake me up when we enter THAT phase…

    Reagan’s people were actually worse than Nixon’s, as were folks like Rumsfeld and Cheney working for Ford. (btw, Cheney was actually pushed along by “Rummy”, as was Condoleezza and other pond scum in the neocon ranks.)

    You people seem to hate the other party for no other reason than that they’re the other party. There’s a name for that: “useful idiots”.

    Just when you thought you’d never see a slimier piece of filth in the Republican Party, up pops Reagan, then Bush, then Baby Bush. There is no bottom to the G.O.P.!!!

    Nope, it will be Chuck Todd with NBC News that will link Obama to all of the listed scandals.;

    ^you are a simple cartoon character.

    Nixon resigned because the congressional leadership went to him and showed him that he would be impeached and convicted. rather than put the country through that, he did the right thing (was forced to do the right thing) and resigned.

    the impeachment of Clinton was much like the impeachment of Andrew Johnson. there was little doubt that the impeachment would fail (not result in a conviction). Impeachment in those two cases reflected poorly upon the GOP as they impeached to impune and didn’t have the votes. if they were decent they would NOT have impeached without the votes to convict. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton did the right thing and remained in office.

    Obama has committed no crimes. there will not be a successful impeachment because of that. Too bad the GOP doesn’t ‘get it’ and can’t ‘get it’ right.

    it is wrong to manufacture scandals and distract the country from important business.

    and it is transparent, If they don’t change their ways, they will continue to lose.

    “Johnson started a war on false pretenses and did enormous damage to the country.”

    You’re talking about the Gulf of Tonkin resolution, right?

    “Some members expressed misgivings about the measure, but in the end, Democratic Senators Wayne Morse of Oregon and Ernest Gruening of Alaska cast the only nay votes.”

    Nonetheless, I’m sure someone will claim that the Republicans opposed Vietnam.
