    @Adrian Snare

    All those in Congress should get only $20,000 a year and car pool and live in dorms and have only one secretary. Then let us see them actually work for us. So far the Republicans are only working 126 days this year.

    You know why Congress is overpaid? Because they’re in charge of their own raises, that’s why.

    Obama gave Mitch McConnell a gift—something McConnell had said previously that he’d consider. Shockingly, the austere White House budget which had massive deficit reductions in place and even stuck it to the seniors and poors through major entitlements cuts was received by the GOP as “unserious.”

    But now Obama has achieved his political goal: prove that he was willing to alienate his own base to compromise while simultaneously demonstrating that the GOP never will.

    No no no no…. a congressperson should be paid by the hour at minimum wage, be required to punch in and out and not have access to any expense reimbursement.

    And the guys that collect his garbage need to be the ones signing his time card..

    Or you can retire at 62 and get a reduced rate, as I just did.

    Interesting that Obama is looking at cuticle scissors, while Republicans DO want to use chain saws, but both sides attack Obama. While I haven’t been to an actual “barber” in over 15 years, I still need to trim my nails for “comfort” as well as to avoid infections, like Republicans propose for both Social Security and Medicare. (and VA care!)
