    Look, Stu, I agree with you most of the time. Still, when are we going to stop spending more money than we make?! Dems cry out “the cuts are on the back of the poor!” That’s absolutely true – those services are all for the poor, we don’t have social services for rich people… duh. I support teachers and cops and firefighters as much as anyone, but we CANNOT keep spending more than we make. Try running your household that way and see what happens.

    Agreed,and Obama lied as he agreed to tough budget cuts if he got tax increases on the Top 1%. He got tax increases on the Top 1% and now he does not want to follow through with the tough budget cuts.

    I guess the real question here is, what are the other menacing weapons on the surgeon’s table? On the other hand, I find it suspicious that Republicans cry foul when Democrats run up the budget … but not when the GOP does it. Either way, I do agree that we shouldn’t spend more than we make, no matter who’s in charge.

    @Tigger

    tig said he got tax increases
    75% of all budget agreements to data have been services reductions. That’s a 3:1 ratio of cuts:taxes. Further, sequestration will be devestating to our already weak recovery and tax hikes for the wealthiest Americans isn’t even close to what’s been given up by the middle and lower classes.
    It’s simply whining by the rightists who argue against tax increases when it was President Obama who was re-elected and the Republicans who lost seats in congress. It’s the republicans who need to stop mewling about losing and face up to a factbased reality instead of the fantasy land amoral satanists like Rupert and Limbough create. Current taxation laws are regressive and need to get fixed.

    Again with the faux noise BS tiggertoady?
    Lest you forget the Bush tax cuts expired they were not a “Tax Increase”!
    The Presidents tough budget cuts include elimination of subsidies to oil producers who are still making record profits, Exxon Mobil reported 2nd qtr 2012 at 15.7 Billion, total yr profits estimated at 60.7 Billion for 2012.
    Closing tax loopholes also qualifies as tough budget cuts.
    But on the faux noise bus you and the rest of the black hole bunnies are still living in the surrealistic limelight of the faux noise media’s.
    now if only we can get the scalpers in the big banks and bring them to trial!

    Sorry, but I need to put this in shouter-case for the hard of reading:

    75% OF ALL BUDGET AGREEMENTS TO DATE, HAVE BEEN SERVICES REDUCTIONS. THAT’S A 3:1 RATIO OF CUTS:TAXES!

    Obama is willing to continue negotiating on spending, but the Republicans think they are done with revenue. What happened to Romney’s promise to “close loopholes”? Right, Romney lost, so now it’s a terrible idea, even though it started with the Republicans.
