There is a technological answer to the question. This answer serves the needs and desires of both sides of the issue.
.
Gun owners can own all the gunst they would want and those guns would be able to be automatic and deadly from afar.
.
Gun control advocates would have a situation where we as a society can live free from the fear of these weapons.
.
All existing guns would be obsoleted within 5 years. Thereby eliminating the problem of the innercity epidemic of guns.
.
There is no good reason for Gun Rights advocates to be against the new technological solutions to uncontrolled gunning.

inanimate objects have no power to save or kill. It is the mental state of the person controlling it.

Has the N.R.A. stepped up offering gun safety courses after Newtown? Have they offered to teach more people the proper way to use a gun?
Just wondering…

Of course they offer courses. You didn’t know that?
.
Of course, if you’re asking if they offered them for free to the community of Newtown, that’s just ludicrous, and you’re being foolish to ask if they would be as insensitive as you.

Yes, I KNOW that the N.R.A. teaches gun safety courses. I was just wondering if they have stepped up nationwide awareness of that fact?

I don’t have to read it, as in the link a student steals a gun, a gun does NOT steal a student.

Perhaps, but most gun folks who think they need them for protection are nuts.

What country with the most guns, kills more of its citizens with those guns, far more than any other country?

Did you bother to read either article? In the first, the armed person who apprehended the suspect in question was a trained police officer who was off duty at the time. From the article: “After the suspect reached the theater, an off duty Bexar County Sheriff officer who was working at the theater shot at him and possibly struck him…”
The second article is about a woman who shot and killed an intruder in her own home using a hand gun. What does that have to do with high capacity semi-automatic assault rifles?

You found two examples from recent days of guns possibly helping in a situation. I bet I can come up with at least a dozen articles about people just today murdered with guns.

@Ms. Ima
Well, by NOT reading it, Ima, you remain ignorant of the potential implications of having teachers bringing guns into class, which you seem to advocate. Fortunately, people who chose NOT to remain ignorant on those implications will hopefully prevent the tragedies that would certainly result.

Both links you provided were from the San Antonio Express-News, the 3rd largest daily paper in Texas. How is this not mainstream?
