Yes we know, so? Trying to give an anecdotal antidote for a staunch Republican? Just human failings or that human males aren’t naturally monogamous regardless of political sides.

Men don’t think very well when it comes to sex. Democrats who get caught usually leave, but republicans when they get caught generally manage to stay in office. I’ve noticed, why is that?

Inexpensive shot as the General paid the price for it.
    Appropriate drawing of the problem.

When Gary Hart was running against the Reagan, I stated I’d rather have someone who loves carelessly than kills without caring. We’ve gottn the latter with Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43, Nicaragua, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq again.

Petraeous had critics as a general, but now it’s only the “zipper effect” conswervatives worry about. Sad, in so many ways.

Ecce Homo. Like Clinton, he will be forgiven in the long run.

Bill Clinton had affairs when he was Governor of Arkansas, yes, it’s true, and when Clinton was running for President in 1992, SNL lampooned Clinton with many a skit with him having sex with women in the back of the Governor’s Limo while the Arkansas Capitol Police and State Troopers stood guard outside the door

Gingrich was cheating on his wife during the Clinton impeachment hearings, Mark Foley was known to send sexually suggestive emails and text messages to underage male interns while the Republican leadership turned a blind eye, Bob Packwood stepped down amid claims of sexual misconduct, et cetera. Neither side can claim a monopoly on sex scandals, now can they?

This is a sad story, and way too common in our society. General Petraeus is an amazing man whose total career has been honorable and, to my knowledge, ethical. Apparently close proximity to attractive women can still turn a man’s mind to mush. My Christian friends in this forum might note that Adam did not have to bite the apple Eve gave him. Samson shouldn’t have told Delilah about his hair. David could have left Bathsheba alone.
This story is really about a family in conflict. I do not believe General Petraeus has done anything to compromise national security. He and his wife have a lot of talking to do and between having to talk to congress about Benghazi or talking to his wife about his affair, he probably would rather talk about Benghazi.
I hope our legislature will quickly settle this matter in their own minds so they can move on to more important matters.
