    Individuals, relief organizations, and churches will be far more efficient at filling the needs of the people than any federal government organization will ever be.

    First action taken: eliminate government regulations for Gasoline mixtures. Eliminate government requirements for environmental impact studies for clean up work.

    If churces and relief organizations were more efficient, why are so many people on food stamps ? Where were those organizations during Katrina ? The simple fact is that all these organizations can not cope with any disaster on these sacales , that is why the Federal government ha dto create Fema in the first place (Gee wasn’t that Reagan ?)

    @onguard

    If we were going at the speed of Bush and his "FEMA"s response, Obama would just be getting back from vacation and Brownie would be moving the first aid into place.

    I never see that happening. They help but they couldn’t begin to deal with such a vast disaster. Not a chance.

    Sure so we can pollute as we “clean up” is stupid and just another anti environmental mentally ill declaration.

    The governor of NY has waved taxes for tankers delivering oil and gasoline to NY.
    The Federal Govt has waved the Jones Act, which prohibited foreign owned tankers from delivering gasoline to certain ports.
    The first tanker arrived at 2 AM on Friday in NY with 2 million gallons of gasoline. Granted, it’s a drop in the bucket but more are on the way. Biggest problem is power. The city workers fought fires, rescued the trapped, and are now proceeding with the cleanup effort. But the subways won’t run and the gas pumps won’t work without electricity.

    Yeah, that worked REALLY well in Katrina. The churches broke out all their helicopters and saved the locals. Idiot.

    Can anyone explain to me why so many people who are against government want to become part of it?

    Just like small children they want to get their hands on it so they can tear it up…and then blame someone else.

    Yep, the churches will take over. Especially the Mormon Church. With its 7 billion annual, tax free income, coming from charitable deductions. Then spending all of 0.7% of that on actual charity, the rest to church affairs.

    Strike “Government”. Put in “Society”. Now you see how ridiculous that statement is. Since the dawn of time people have banded together in order to protect each other. They all had “Government”, because without it the society won’t work. People who are anti-government are also anti-law, anti-order,anti-defense, anti-education and so on. This “Big Government” thing is just an excuse. Most people would be plundered, raped and dead within five minutes if Government were suddenly to disappear…

    Government is the solution to a natural disaster.
    Reagan was a problem who created a disaster.
