So, this is what the GOP means by “Support the troops”…

do cartoonists take an oath to be unfair?
1. The Democrats rule the senate and set session times and set daily schedules of what business to work on.
2.it is the Reid Democrats that have deep-sixed piles of GOP House passed bills, and a decision on what is the right thing to do on the writing of any bill is what both D and R partys are at a great divide and impasse, preventing agreement and passage. If we all knew what exactly is in the bills, this might be a blessing in disguise. “No man is safe when Congress is in session”….

Disgusted, you need to learn the facts before embarrassing yourself. There was plenty of time to pass the bill. It was a completely bipartisan bill, ALL of the GOP suggestions were included in the hopes of getting it passed. The cowards in the GOP were scared that Obama MIGHT look good signing it, so they UNILATERALLY BLOCKED THE VOTE. 40 Republicans against bringing it to a vote counts as a majority in the senate, because it’s only supposed to be used in true emergencies. There is NOTHING that the Democrats can do against lock-step opposition to helping our troops. If you’re a vet, or even if you just respect vets, remember this disgusting insult when you vote this year.

1179 days since the last budget was passed by the democrat controlled senate. April 29, 2009. Since then the democrats who control the senate and set the adgenda have blocked every proposal sent to them for a budget by the house of representatives.
It is time to vote the miserable bastards out of office.

@ARodney
Once, the Senate followed Robert’s Rules, 67 votes required to call the question. But, if a senator who looked like Jimmy Stewart wanted to filibuster, etiquette meant the Senate let him talk until he could talk no longer, then voted.
Then they changed the rules, so only 60 are needed to call the question, but 41 can say the word ‘filibuster’ and that kills the bill: senators no longer need to exhaust themselves talking to filibuster, they just need to say the word once.
Obama has never had 60 votes to kill a filibuster. First, they wouldn’t seat Al Franken. Then Kennedy was too sick to vote. Then Kennedy was replaced with a Tea Party Republican.
And maybe that’s for the best. Or maybe not. But them’s the rules.

Another post completely out of touch with reality. ARodney dismantles you nicely, no need to repeat. Please tell me you don’t live in a swing state.

1)Republicans own the House and work only one week out of two.
2)Most of the bills were for anti abortion crap. Others were just to fill time.
Night-Gaunt49 said, 8 months ago
Let me correct myself, the Republicans work one week out of three. The have one person come in and gavel in and out but they do not business. All of 2011 NO Business was done! That is very wrong.

To the Republicans in the House, a bill calling for elimination of taxes on anyone making over a $million is a “job creation” bill.

Senate is sitting on two dozen jobs bills passed by the house. Thee are over a half dozen existing jobs programs for veterans. We don’t need to spend more money to duplicate efforts.

9-19-12: The House approved: funding for Colordo fish recovery, Mescalero Apache’s right to lease water rights, passage of an Iranian boogey-man rule, meaningless lip music to Georgia (Asia), a pancreatic cancer initiative, astronauts right to retain personal artififacts, improved fiduciaries of veterans, donations by tax-payers to the IRS, freeing dead veterasn from educational debt, change in interest rates for the Small Business Act, the tracking of cross-border violence, aid to Burma, banned Chinese drywall, provisions for a National Pediatric Research Network, and the easing of rules to allow veterans to become EMTs. No jobs were created.
9-20-2012: The House approved:
limiting the Secretary of the Interiors authority to issue regulations untils December of 2012, plus several incomprehensible child welfare bills. No jobs were created.

It astounds me when the political rhetoric that has repeatedly been proven beyond a shadow of doubt is throw out as sudo-truth.
The only fools stupid enough to continue the travist of conservo-cratic illogical rationalizations keep repeating the talking points of idiots!
