A shovel is a tool. A chain saw is a tool. A firearm is a tool.
I’ve seen cases of all three being used in homicides.
I’ve been on ranges. I’ve been in combat. I’ve been in law enforcement. I"ve been a hunter most of my life. Firearms ARE a “tool”.
I’ve also been to gun shows, and observed those who recognize the tool, VERSUS those who DO worship firearms as in the ‘toon. The latter are indeed scary people. It’s an odd mix of the angry, and the terrified, many are both.
I have a “tool closet”, I also have a tool shed for the garden, and a garage for mechanic’s tools. What I don’t have is a need to harbor the fears and anger of those so “enthralled” with firearms as to give them status as “sacred objects”.
Considering Wayne La Pierre at NRA makes around a million dollars a year as a lobbyist, NOT a “gun expert”, I wonder who’s the “tool”.
