The AZ law is now toothless.
Or has only 8/32 = 1/4 of its original teeth
Cuz 3 of 4 rulings were against AZ.
All that college math finally paid off.

Anyone want to bet that about 90% of the “Papers Please” stops will be in Maricopa County, home of “Sheriff Crazy Joe”?
braindead08 said, 12 months ago
The whole idea behind the law was windfall profits for the for profit AZ prison system — to be paid for by the AZ State Govt.
Naturally, the INCREASED SPENDING for the prison system profits would have to made up elsewhere.
BTW, the deficits would ‘surprise’ the Republicans, who would blame Democrats for budgetary excesses.

Paranoia for the brain dead? Please, detention until going to a federal facility (not state) does not equal additional revenues for the state prison system.

@Jeff Kiser
Local detention facilities are paid to house federal prisoners by the FBP.

They can only ask for Papers after suspect is arrested and booked

I am not sure if they must be detained and booked. It could be a misdemenor violation.

@Justice22
They have several FCI’s (Federal Correctional Institutions). The revenue is minimal for any that are detained in the state. It is ridiculous to assert something so blatently incorrect.

Jeff, CONTRACTORS are running most of the jails housing illegal aliens in “suspense”. Arizona and Texas are BIG TIME contractor prisons, and it’s costing $$, and in escapees.

Documentation? Seems to me you are magnifying a small issue. There are several federal facilities in AZ, a much smaller state that TX.

This strip is disgusting… You may not call anyone racist for eternity, you double-mouthed hater of your own country and its laws.

Aztlan is where the first leaders of the Mexican people came from. The cops can still demand your papers if they stop you for “any reason” they find “suspicious.” No definition is give of “suspicious.” And since they can demand your immigrant papers you still have to carry them on you.

@Yammo
The laws are oppressive and racist. We still, I think, have the freedom to protest and over turn bad laws. This is bad.
