Sadly, we had a similar situation – didn’t doubt the vaccine but can’t get it.

Hmm, like buying bomb shelters in the ‘50’s, or water and duct tape when a hurricane looms? Terrorism is in the mind of the blovinator.

The lack of availability will be blamed on Bush in 3…2… Oh, wait….
It will be blamed on Obama in…. NEVER.
cdward said, 25 days ago
church, blame? This is not a blame-the-president type of issue? Why would you even go there?

Because if it happened on Bush’s shift, he would have been blamed for mismanaging the program. Let’s face it folks, it’s not the Dems or the Reps fault that the gov’t is inefficient. It’s both of their fault for not working together to fix things.
parkersinthehouse said, 25 days ago
where’s your clarity dude
the government is not inefficient
there are problems between parties, but it’s s’posed to be that way - otherwise problems couldn’t be examined from all sides
it does seem to me, however, that the parties, mostly the republican party, have come to maintain the image rather than to fill the role

On one hand it’s irritating to hear influential people like Limbaugh telling people not to get the flu shot (which has less mercury in it than the average tuna sandwich).
But on the other hand, it means there’s more flu shots available for those that want it.
Maybe it’s analogous to natural selection.

^ Maybe it’s analogous to natural selection.
Certainly a novel way of looking at it! :)

Probably would have been more accurate to say “almost-natural selection”!

Holy SH!T do you all feel entitled much?
Creating a vaccine is not like making a grilled cheese. A buddy of mine got it because he’s a grade school teacher. If you’re not on the front lines then just wait…. they’re making more as I type this. Or would you rather that if/when it goes pandemic we have no nurses, doctors or EMTs?

but in this world making a ‘crisis’ is a simple as making a grilled cheese

Great point. Where are all the governors crying, “PEOPLE ARE DYING” on the national news.

Is Rush being a moron again? I didn’t think he had taken up the anti-vaccination chant. Well, think of it as evolution in action…

“Parker: the government is not inefficient”
That must be the most satirically brilliant statement ever.

I’m 52 ergo, I’m forbidden from receiving this Vaccine. Now Yu need not worry about our Currerent Stooge-in-Cheif calling fot Mandatory Vaccination for H1Ni or what ever they’re calling this strand of flu today.

I’m not sure what country you live in, Tigger, but by coincidence I’m also 52, and yesterday Kaiser Permanente gave me the seasonal flu shot in my right arm, and the H1N1 in my left. Took less than 10 minutes.
Maybe you should move to California?

Sooky Rottweiler says;
I had my rabbies shot two weeks ago, now I’m turning the tables on my humans. I don’t want to hear them say they don’t want it.
By the way, thanks, you gave me another excuse for my next vet appointment :-P (and whatever the icon for tail wagging is, insert it here)
DrCanuck said, 25 days ago
Now if conservativism is inherited (and there is some fascinating evidence emerging that it is) and conservatives refuse to get flu shots so they die before they reproduce, then THAT means…….
Dude! Good thing they don’t “believe” in evolution!
motivemagus said, 25 days ago
Anthony – good Lord! Is Beck off his (other) meds again? Certainly he’s showing off his ignorance by saying he wants to get the flu now instead of a vaccine so he’ll be resistant to the mutated versions that come later. Yeah, that’ll work – if THIS flu doesn’t kill you first! And obviously he doesn’t know that vaccination will give you the same resistance without getting sick. Dear God, have mercy on these fools. ‘Cause H1N1 won’t.
Betcha Rush does get it, but doesn’t tell anyone.

When I’m dealing with either a private company or a government agency/program, I know that I will have some degree of inefficiency to contend with. Depending on the day of the week, I may be faced with a person of limited intelligence or competence. I may even have to negotiate with a person who just doesn’t give a damn. But in my dealings over the years with any number of government employees in all sorts of circumstances, I have never had to deal with one whose paycheck and bonus program was based on screwing me. I can’t say the same for private business.

Oh lefties–so scared of Limbaugh, Beck, Palin. If it were not for them you would have nothing to post; gosh bleeep Limbaugh, Beck and Palin.
PlainBill said, 24 days ago
Howie,
Limbaugh, Beck, Palin, etc are the easy targets of the disease that is destroying the Republican party. 15 years ago it was Gingrich. Remember how well his Contract for America worked out?
lalas said, 24 days ago
Howie – it is really sad that Palin is one of the people you have to look up to.
fbrewer said, 24 days ago
Palin is just a post turtle. If you drive down a country road and see a turtle atop a fencepost, you know the turtle doesn’t have any idea how it got there. It doesn’t have any idea what to do now that it’s up there. It doesn’t have any idea about how to get down. And you’re wondering to yourself, “Who is the d@mn fool who put it there?”
