The market has long been inversely proportional to employment. I never could figure out how unemployed folks were supposed to buy the products those rising stock corporations produced. Oh, wait, is it because the market is just roulette with a rigged wheel?

Why on earth are we paying so much attention to Wall St. and the Dow Jones average as if it meant anything at all?
Didn’t we learn anything from what happened a year ago?

^Because we are scared and people are still losing jobs. And jobs aren’t going to magically re-appear just because Libs think real hard.

That’s why they called the last one a Depression; it was depressing. The Best Way To Rob A Bank Is To Own One. Look for the book.
Meanwhile: Find something you know how to do, that helps as many other people as possible, learn to do it really, really well, become the very best at it. Bucky Fuller (in Critical Path, quite accessible) found rewards found him from out in left field when he did that. The Universe delivers.

but the point puppy is that Dow Jones ups and downs don’t correspond to jobs or adding value to economy or society. It’s like monopoly money except taxpayers end up having to bail out those who gamble badly.

You people shouldn’t talk about the stock market, you don’t understand it and it shows.
That goes for all posters above.

Are you trying to say there is numerous inside trading? That will cause the market to go down further than it was.

RV, surely you must be aware that the stock markets are not the only factors in the economies of the world? So what is your point? (My God, I miss Dredpirateroberts now!).
