wonder what would have happened if people had taken to the streets to protest the Supreme Court stopping the full accounting of ballots in Florida in 2000?

Minnesota’s recount has been performed under a heavy-duty microscope …

Interesting question, believecommonsense - could the coup d’état of 2000 have succeeded if the residents of the US had protested ? But Mr Gore was unwilling to take upon himself the responsibility of leading the protests, and so the US - and the world - got eight years of Bush/Cheney. What did Mr Gore know that others did not ?…

actually Florida 2000 controversity began because the leftist Dems wanted to count the heavily Dems precincts only not all of them…

That’s what YOU say happened in Florida 2000, Mach. Got anything to back that up? Besides another political cartoon?

And what about the voters that were purged from the rolls, by Katherine Harris…. the lady every rightie THOUGHT was going to be the next Repub superstar?

I think it’s the 12th amendment. I just re-read it and it talks about the House choosing the President if there’s not a clear majority. It got confusing to read, so I’m sure I would still get the answer wrong on a civics test.

Minnesota doesn’t have the Electoral College. Franken should have been seated a long time ago.

The irony & the hypocrisy of Coleman’s unending appeals is that after the first vote count when he was ahead by 225 votes, he told Franken that a recount and appeal of the voters’ decision would be a waste of the taxpayers money and time.

It’s funny how the Republicans are so worried about taxpayers until they have a pet earmark that needs funding. They ABHOR activist judges, except when it comes to abortion, sex education, “intelligent design”, guns, or election recounts.

Count the vote 2 or 3 more times and i’m sure Fraken will win by a landslide..Dems will see to it

etocme – I’m sure it was in the Republican controlled Appeals board and the Republican controlled MNSC’s best political interest to all agree that the Republican candidate (Norm) hasn’t got a leg to stand on.

But hey… feel free to blather on about that which you know nothing.

When the MNSC comes back and agrees with all the other rulings there will be no excuse to not seat Al. I’m sure Norm will take it to the SCOTUS but they will not hear it, but in MN that is not part of the appeals process. I’m afraid Little Timmy Pawlenty will refuse to sign the election certificate because he’s a partisan hack with national ambitions that would be dashed were he to do the right thing and sign.

Guys, fair warning: READ THE @#$% NEWS! Minnesota’s election was amazingly fair and carefully administered, as judged by both parties, excluding most of Coleman’s immediate circle. I swear, I’m tempted to start flagging the idiots who keep spouting outright lies and insults to the good people of Minnesota, who are putting up with an awful lot of bleeep from a guy who knows he lost and is holding off admitting it to deny the will of the people and protect the GOP from its just desserts.

No, I’ve been watching and listening to all of it. If Franken lost I’d be bummed, but it has been UTTERLY transparent.
