Governments that trade arms for hostages and use the proceeds to fund Freedumb fighters in banana republics, and give intelligence and weapons of massive destruction to dictators like Sod-damm, are definitely a problem.
Ronnie rarely met a right-wing death squad he didn’t like.

There’s something about the idea of the “invisible hand” that I find very, very naive. The world changes. It would be heck of a lot easier if we could just find a magick recipe that worked, works, and will work tomorrow but you only find these things in fairytales, not in real life and certainly not in complicated social sciences.

That explains why cartoons with this message are completely false.

Started as a Hollywood snitch, ended up hugging Gorbachev on Red Square of the “Evil Empire”. Made the mental that if you’re not rich you’re human waste acceptable.

“ended up hugging Gorbachev on Red Square of the “Evil Empire”.”
It is well known that it was largely Reagan’s policies that propelled the U.S. past the Soviet Union both economically and militarily. It was in direct response to Reagan that the Soviets tried to play catch up and bankrupted themselves.
That comment of yours is entirely misleading and false.

CB, give it a break. I had to live through the clown’s administration and saw too many people hurt. And I’m not only tlaking about economics.

just because pure communism failed, doesn’t mean pure capitalism can’t. It just means pure communism failed.

“CB, give it a break. I had to live through the clown’s administration and saw too many people hurt. And I’m not only tlaking about economics”
There were many many many more people hurt everywhere else in the world much more so than America. In fact, America has done more for the world in terms of ending human suffering and poverty than any country ever has.
You seem to have some foolish notion that people have to be happy at all times and there is no pain we should ever face. There will always people hurting even in the greatest country in the world. To deny that is to deny reality.

CB, the subject was Regan and his presidency - it wasn’t the best for the US.

I don’t know about that, Clinton still is going around today bragging about his “surplus” that was made possible by Reagan-nomics policies and the peace dividend Reagan left behind….
