   Unfortunately, WKRP cannot be shown in syndication in it’s entirety, due to royalty rights on the songs used during the show’s original run. An attempt was made to syndicate it awhile back, with some different songs in place of those they didn’t have permission to use. It lost hugely in the translation, and the attempt was aborted.

    It is available on DVD .. but I don’t know if the original songs are on it.
    Heavy Metal took longer to get to video tape for the same reason.

    Nope, I read that the WKRP DVD’s are using generic music recorded for the re-release.

    When I watch Les put on his Mr Macho wig and ascot and go confront the Big Guy I want to hear Hot Blooded playing, not some generic substitute.
