Val: When Andy came to live with you, was it a big adjustment? Joan: Not so much... Joan: He's a good kid. He loves his Uncle Wally. He's GREAT with Max and Luci. Andy: You weren't saving that meatloaf, leftover ham and pound of cheddar for anything, were you, Aunt Joan? Joan: But we've had to take out a second mortgage to feed him.
I was concentration camp skinny until 18 largely because my foster parents starved me. I had to take to “stealing” food and cash to buy food from them. I could not make them understand that what they ate was insufficient for myself even after they caught me stealing several times.
