    @Holly

    Plan A: Dive into the water and swim far-far-away out of sight or at to the other side of the lake.

    Plan B: Keep blurting out random wrong answers all day long.

    Plan C: Sing out loud like a Banshee and sing very badly while you’re at it.

    Plan D: Do ALL the above.

    Who knew that Gram can be such a killjoy.
    Let them have their summer.

    Wow. Well shame on Gram for trying to make sure Holly is prepared to do well in school. This is America! A C-average is perfectly acceptable. As long as she’s having fun. Besides, how’re you gonna get her married off later if she’s too smart?

    I agree. She’s in a wonderful environment. Math doesn’t have to “ruin” it. Just make it a normal part of life (like they do in other parts of the world), and it will be fine. I would do the same as what Evie is doing.

    I say ‘YEAH, EVIE ! ! !’ She is just trying to ‘look out’ for her granddaughter and help her survive school, so she can survive ‘LIFE’ ! I wish I would have had a Grandma like Evie that did things like she does rather than the parents I had that ‘brow-beat’ and ‘berated’ me through school, telling me of my ‘shortcomings’ all the time.

    my mom also always told me how stupid i was but never sat and tried to help me better myself, i would have appreciated anyone that took the time and interest in my education.
