Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

When mine made spaghetti and meatballs, she also made some fried meatballs. Which were not supposed to be eaten before dinner, but always were.

Grandma’s cooking is always better!
Not sure what we’ll say when the generation of “open a box and microwave it” becomes grandparents…

After five sons spread out over many years also hate to cook. I cook maybe three times a week and then it’s soup or sandwiches . Eat out too. Fine with my husband. Never was a great cook!

my Mom didn’t eat much therefore was not a very good cook. Most people like my cooking better. People even made fun of her peas- she always overcooked them.

Sunday comics have their own storyline.
