Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

“5 player Scrabble?”
Actually, we can play with 8, using a poker table and two complete games, one of which has the swivel-type board.
(Try coming up with a word with two Qs and two Xs.)

How about QXXQ? You didn’t say it had to be a valid English word!

just take a short trip by the thermostat and kick it up a few degrees, I know if I do that my husband doesn’t even notice.

Well . . . I guess . . . he won the trip to Paris though . . . but then again, Joan will be wanting to shop . ..

Come to think of it . . . since they’re going to Paris anyway . . . can I give them a list of bandes dessinees (graphic novels) and the money to buy those? At the moment I’m wanting all the ‘garage Isidore’ and the most recent ‘Natacha hotesse de l’air" ones. Some ‘Tuniques Bleus’ and ‘Cedric’ ‘Melusine’ ‘Kid Paddle’ and ‘Nathalie’ also ‘Game Over’ . . . . okay okay, never mind, they’d need a shipping crate to bring it all back and that’s just asking too much!

Can’t do both in ONE, but how about QueeQuay? Literary reference… Or Xerox, which ahs been admitted into Webster’s, and is therefore now a legitimate word as well.

Nooo; I think, if you’re referring to the pattern around the top of the lamp shade , that would be ice melting and beginning to run down the icy slope of the lower shade. :)
