Stone Soup by Jan Eliot Alix: Mom's sick. Holly: Oh NO! Who's going to drive me to meet my friends at the MOVIES?! Holly: I mean SHUCKS. That's too bad. Poor mom. Alix: Nice recovery. Alix: She asked if we could make her tea and toast. Holly: Sure. OK. Good idea. Holly: C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon Alix: RELAX. Gramma is driving you to the movies, because even though Mom feels LOUSY, she thought about you. Holly: Well now I just feel GUILTY! Gramma Evie: Ready to go have fun?
Mom being sick means I’m the mom. Or drill sergeant. But I can definitely cook.
