Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

@Fairportfan2
Give them a chocolate bar just before mommy and daddy arrive, just as a reward for being good all day.

hahaha, one time I got to babysit two of my grand-daughters from 7am until 9pm at night all by myself. They were 4 yrs and 18 months. Grandpa was very, very tired at the end of the day. I had to relearn diapering all over again… sheesh.

Keep it up, Val, and you won’t have a boyfriend much longer. He wants to go out on a proper date, AWAY from the realities of off-spring, for the evening.
She’s become so much a Mom, she doesn’t even remember who she was before children. That’s sad.
