Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Several strips are smaller today; Stone Soup, Non Sequitur, Baldo en Espanol, Tank McNamara…

Jan has always complained that comic strips are shrinking. Is this some sort of punishment?

Yes. Small is an understatement. I’ve emailed technical support to tell them about it. Now I’m cranky. Coffee and no comics are not the way to start the day. harumph.
pearlandpeach said, about 1 month ago
Michle, I hope your complaint works… this very small with no real zoom is terrible.

Right-click on the comic image and choose “View image” from the pop-up menu. You’ll see it regular size. :)

What’s going on?? They are all too small!!!

I can hardly see the enlarged version well enough to read it!

Maybe grandmum’s trip to Thailand was EXACTLY what Holly needed as “kick in backside” to study and do homework!

Pooch Cafe was also small like this. If you click on it it enlarges but there’s an X on the left side making it impossible to read the first word. I hope this isn’t something they’re going to do from now on.
I agree with Holly, I’d rather do homework (even algebra) than look after squalling brats.

Your strip came up shrunken today. Impossible to read.

I don’t blame the girls for wanting to stay home and do homework. lol
If you click the “Larger” word in tags it will enlarge the strip. This is not a fun thing though I am hoping that this is not a new thing.

It’s not a new thing, it’s just a mistake on my part. We’re working to correct it.

Look in the lower left corner of the bottom task bar. You will see a magnifying glass and 100%. Pull down and choose 200% or use ctrl + to blow up. Looks fine.

Do you actually think Holly will do homework with no adult supervision? The old saying while the cats away mice will play. It will be mom getting on to Holly after checking to see if home work is done when she is finished with work and dinner. The girls could actually help with dinner inbetween homework though.
My screen also shows small picture I figure it’s a technical problem and they would know.

In my email of about 31 comics, only 2 came through so small that they couldn’t be read. This is one of the two. The size of the whole strip was shrunken. A small problem- just wondering……
gocomicsmember said, about 1 month ago
By the time I’m looking at this, it is back to normal size, at least for me.

The tiny strip did get me here, so perhaps you want us to come to the online site to see what’s new? When I have time, I will go over some of the new ones and delete some old ones on my list. A thought - you could add a few sample strips to emails - clearly marked as such- to interest us in the new artists. I’d go for that.

I’m very new to all of this, so I find the above comments helpful to navigate–thanks people!

He he he. If they don’t behave after school AND do their homework helping aunt Joan with the kids could be their punishment. ;)

My comics page doesn’t have a magnifying glass. It must depend on the computer. I just clicked on the strip and got to tis comment page with the strip in normal size. Hitting control and the plus sign also works.

Sounds as if you’re assuming that everyone uses Internet Explorer.
News flash: they don’t.
However, for those using other browsers in the lower right corner of the strip is a tab marked “More”.
Click that and you can select “View Larger”…

with the smaller strip, i think they’re trying to save on broadband or pixels
