Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Over brearing daughters, ungrateful grandchildren, unsatifying life. I’d say it better for her get out of there while she can. Send her love through the teley-phone

Funny how Val can be out-of-touch with her mom’s needs, but upset when her daughters are out-of-touch with her needs. But that’s how we are! lol I think Grandma will post updates and lots of pictures to her Facebook for them to keep in touch with what she’s doing. :0)

Recently read that babysitters are getting double digit rates.

Why does it have to be a vacation FROM anything? Seems to me she’s going on a vacation TO something.
