Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

I went through that yesterday when the cable went down. Only for me it was the cuckoo clock that went off and confused the poor computer

The ironic part is that the person that comes on the line is usually from another country and English is not their first language.

Just wondering: In the banner across the top of this page, we’ve got both sisters, both girls, grandma, Officer Phil, Wally and the kids Max ad Luci. Even biscuit. Where’s Andy?

I feel that way wit the electic company Westar Energy and AT&T all automatic. The local newspaper laid off customer service reps and sent the sensytem to India and they have no idea what type of weather we have here and if go by computer or what is on line that doesn’t help when a paper is missing or soggy.

I agree also about automaty service calls.
I just read Fridays comments on getting kids up for school. I wish I had thought of some. Be honest I laughed at some thought they where funny, although a lot of you didn’t think they would be funny at the time. Me I would know and hollower time for school.
When my daughter finished high school and went to college it was up to her.
