Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

She seems kind of depressed if she doesn’t even notice Luci being taped up. She needs a nice quiet room with a door that can lock, and someone to watch the kids for a while.

You just know Lucy is making a mental list of PAYBACK’s!!
kab2rb said, 4 months ago
20 odd years ago. I gave a low paying job to raise first one then almost 3 years later two. Then tried to get back went back to tech school. Now too old no one wants someone older than 40. Although I have a part-time and trying for full time. Thats life though. One benefit I have great memory’s of my two growing up.
I notice the teenager could be used to help with the kids. My advice don’t wait too long otherwise your out. The tennage would be a good baby sitter.
Especially with jobs tumbling.
I understand mom’s frustration.

I also read another comic called Pajama Diaries and Jill has the same problem. She has two little girls and works from home but trying to balance everything is wearing her out.

Macushlalondra - I also used to read Pajama Diaries, but my paper discontinued it. Did you find it on line?
donkeymom said, 4 months ago
Burgundy2 - Pajama Diaries is on Daily Ink/ King Features. There is a $15.00 a year fee, but well worth it.

Hey kab2rb, funny you should say all that. I’m getting ready to quit my job (I know, it’s crazy in this economy), and I’m still wondering if it’s the right decision. What did you mean by “don’t wait too long otherwise your out”?? How long were you at home? How much experience did you have in the workforce when you quit? (Hopefully you’ll see this post)

lightenup that’s a tough decision to be making at this time. I know we were in a recession when I quit my last job, but it wasn’t this bad. It still took me a long time to find any kind of permanent work.
