Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

He’s scary. My stylist is an amazing Aussie, with a fantastic sense of humour. She doesn’t do the 3rd person routine.

Run! Don’t wait to find out what haircut he has in mind, just take the scissors and run!

Or maybe he’s a schizo.

Are we playing a game of Simon Says? Simon Says “stop it already!”

Gee, Jan, a flamboyant gay hairdresser. Any other offensive stereotypes coming up? Perhaps Evie visits an African American friend and is served fried chicken and watermelon?

eatteaphonenome lighten up, Simon is a long time character who is portayed very favorably. And your the the one jumping to the “sterotype”. Is that what you think of all male hair dressers?

Hey I’ll visit anyone who will serve me fried chicken and watermelon, I don’t care what colour they are.

Love it, love it. Sarah loves talking about herself in the third person. Who doesn’t?

Simon will do something fantastic, and Evie will be very happy. It’s ok with me if he talks third person, but I hope he doesn’t wind up calling himself “Simone”

Why does Evie have one big buck-tooth in panel one???

I may be caucasian, but I will also go anywhere for some good fried chicken and then some cold watermelon (would you mind picking up some cold beer to go with that, please?).

MamaTaney - I don’t think that’s a buck tooth - it’s just her mouth open a tiny bit as she says Hi.
