I hate it when someone always has to one up you. You may be feeling lousy but they’re always worse. Then you have to sympathize with them all the time.

Uh, oh. Don’t look now, but it looks like Max destroyed the lawn mower too.

Wolfdreamer250, that may be sanctioned by Wally and Andy as they now have excuse to do no lawn maintenance (cutting or the other two functions that lead to it–fertilising and watering).

I have a 15-year old who constantly reminds me of Holly. Seriously, when does school start again?

but Max isn’t bad, he doesn’t do things to annoy, he’s this really happy kid, and that counts for something, doesn’t it?

Maybe Holly will luck out and the school district will cancel Summer School due to lack of funds (as has happened in California). Then, she can repeat the whole year and see how that sets.

It occurs to me that Joan’s plaint about the flooded bathrooms today might be swapped with Alix’s plaint about losing a flipflop yesterday. It makes both day’s exchanges sillier, but that’s not a bad thing…

Hm, I thought that was more “group commiseration” rather than one-upping. My best friend and I both used to say we had the worst jobs and we made ourselves (and each other) feel better by saying “my job is so bad that…” “Oh yeah? MY job is so bad that…” and we always ended up laughing.
