Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

She knows that they suspect, but she thinks they won’t mind if they know what she knows.

People helping people. Comics helping comics. That’s what it’s all about.

And Alix is actually doing a “2 birds on one stone” approach–helping needys with food, while preventing culinary disasters by Val!

It sure looks like Heart! I thought she looked familiar..

I think she should have asked first though. It really wasn’t her food to take.

You have a good heart Alix

Is that tyre beside the caravan the spare which Val was asking much ado about yesterday?
harebell said, 7 months ago
Looks as if the hood(bonnet)is up. If so, they may have more problems than Alix can help out with.
Who is Heart?
prasrinivara said, 7 months ago
For harebell, the eponymous title-character of Heart Of The City.
(edit: in that strip Heart and Addy Lammarr live in a central Philly apartment building)

The hair style is reminiscent of Heart, that’s all.

I’m with Macushlalondra on this one. Alix has good intentions and a great heart but mom should gently teach her that you must make certain you’re self sufficient first if you can ever hope to welcome others aboard your life raft; otherwise you’ll all sink. And then you give what’s in your own pockets (allowance?), not take from the pockets of others (unless you’re a politician). Afterward, Mom and the kids might decide together what they can realistically donate to help out….. good life lessons.

I have always suspected all those RV people were up to something!
